Thing five

Howdy again, School 2.0. Interesting extension of the web 2.0. This concept can help many in the education field. If you don't know something or you are trying to find information on a subject, guess what, you can possibly find it in the education blogs. As all of you smart educators know, that we don't just learn at school, bet everywhere we go, and everything we do. Having school types of nets and blogs can assist many of the teachers and students to learn more about their profession. I like the concept that we have places to go to talk with many different people all over the world about education or anything we want. Educators can share their ideas and information to as many as would want it. The one thing that I would worry about would be a concept or idea that might not be sound, that might be used by someone that is new to the system. The reason I state this is because you have all sorts of people that get on these sites and some know some stuff and some don't. So be careful. What is so cool about this system is that, we are all busy and can't always stick around to talk about things, but many get some time at home to get on the net to talk and discuss ideas. This is a great way to help each other in certain groups. Like a group at a high school, or educators in a city, or in the state, you get my drift. Possibilities for the future are very similar to what is happening now. Use by teachers to get information about education, use by teachers to get in touch with other educators about reforms and other subject matter. Use by students to learn and understand what is right and what is wrong about matters of education. Who knows what else is possible in the future. My mind can't expand too much more. I'm coming from a time of using manual typewriters.

Thing four

Guys I'm trying, this old man is starting to learn a little about this technology stuff. It was very interesting reading other classmates blogs. One, you find a little bit about that person in their writing. People will tell you much about themselves in writing form. Things people wouldn't tell you face-to-face they will tell you on the net. Two, you get information about other technological processes that you haven't done yet. This can help you find other ways to do different things on the net. I'm not saying that it's that easy yet, but at least I can find out how to do other things by accessing the blogs that have been written and have that type of data on them. Thanks, classmates.

Thing three

Well, here I am again struggling to figure out how all this works. I have finally figured out how to post my blogs, but it still doesn't look like the others on our 5540 page in D2L. I registered Thursday and my name is on the list, but things still don't seem correct. I'm sure when I finally get to talk with someone who knows or the instructor I'll figure it out. It will probably be something easy. I just hope that I'm putting in information on these blogs that are suppose to be on them, my thoughts.

Thing one

Going through the 71/2 habits of a life long learner I noticed that many of those items are used during our lifetimes without really thinking about it. The first item of goals is one that I feel many people forget to do. I remember during my time in the Army, I had to have goals or I wouldn't have gotten through what I was trying to accomplish. Same thing for my education. You must have a goal in mind or you can get derailed quite easily. I would say that the hardest habit for me would be number 4. Just having confidence in myself that I can attain this goal and many others at this time of my life. It has been about 25 years since I went to college and as you get older you do lose some confidence in your ability to learn. The easiest habit probably would be number 2. Excepting responsibility for my own learning is the mainstay of my philosophy. I would never put it on someone else the reason I couldn't learn something. The question is did I try and use all forms of learning to accomplish the learning objective.

Thing two

Well, I'm having issues with figuring out how to find my blogs and get them to the class 5540. I started it in class, but did not finish the "thing one". At home I started again and redid "thing one", but now I can't figure out how to get these items to my Diigo page. I guess this is what happens when you start doing this new technology type stuff. Going through and making the blog wasn't an issue, it's doing something with it afterwards. Who to get it to, etc.
